Pineal Diet - How To Get Started
Thanks to specific research in recent years, we are now becoming more aware of what is going on inside our bodies and one of these benefits has been the increase in awareness of the ‘pineal gland’. This gland, otherwise known as the ‘third eye’ or the ‘mind’s eye’, is relatively small and shaped like a pinecone, but its function is very important. As an endocrine gland, it secretes and produces melatonin which can be important for our overall health but mainly for our sleep.
As we grow older, the pineal gland will calcify which means that it will grow ‘sluggish’ and so the pineal gland diet, or simply ‘pineal diet’, aims to reduce this effect by cutting out fluoride as well as eating healthy fats, foods rich in iodine, coconut oil, cacao, and more. Ultimately, the idea is to consume a diet that is both preservative- and chemical-free whilst focusing on the foods that ‘de-calcify’.
How To Get Started
As with any diet, the hardest part is always getting started and getting used to the foods to make it last for a long time. Before we head into the main foods included, let’s take a look at three quick starting tips.
Stay Hydrated - Did you know that around 90% of us are constantly dehydrated? If you are dehydrated, you will feel physically and mentally drained so drinking water can be a great starting point for keeping a good mood.
Note: Fluoride is to be avoided on the pineal diet but there are water companies that produce bottled water without fluoride!
Pace Yourself - One of the biggest mistakes that people make when starting a diet is choosing to do it all at once; not only is this hard physically but also mentally too. Remember, you have been consuming your current diet for years now so your body needs time to adjust; why not gradually introduce the diet? This way, you will be more likely to stick to it in the future.
Start Today - The longer you put it off, the less likely you are to ever start; instead of putting it off ‘until Monday’, there is no better starting place than today.
So there we have three main tips to get over the hurdles at the beginning but what about the actual diet itself? Let’s take a look at three foods that will help you to achieve your goals.
Iodine - If we don’t feed our bodies iodine, it leaves room for fluoride which is what we are trying to remove. Therefore, we have to introduce it to our diet through foods like broccoli, seaweed, spinach, and even fish. If you don’t like any of these, you will also find supplements.
Apple Cider Vinegar - This ingredient is high in malic acid which works as a detoxifier by removing aluminium from the body; it has also been known to reduce blood pressure, balance glucose levels, and dissolve kidney stones.
Raw Cacao - As well as stimulating the third eye, raw cacao is also an antioxidant so will help to detoxify the pineal gland.
So there we have it, an introduction to the pineal gland and its relating diet; you now have three main tips and three foods/food groups to be getting on with. Getting used to the diet may take some hard work and determination, but it will all be worth it in the end!
